The Yarraman & District Historical Society Inc. was established in December 1995. The Society maintains Yarraman Heritage Centre, a museum that conserves and houses a collection of memorabilia relevant to Yarraman township and District. Additionally, the Society:
- documents, records, interprets and preserves the history of Yarraman;
- documents and compiles family histories of pioneering and local families of Yarraman; and
- collects, catalogues, preserves and displays items pertaining to the history of Yarraman, as well as the history of Queensland and Australia.
The Yarraman Heritage Centre regularly facilitates community gatherings, social activities and district functions for the Yarraman township and District communities, in an effort to promote community cohesion and facilitate enhanced mental and physical health as well as general overall well-being.
